Electrical Compliance Starts With a Proper Inspection.
PJ Electrical provides inspection and Certificate of Compliance services for electrical installations, solar installations and electric fences across Pretoria and Centurion.
One Property. Different Installations. Separate COCs.
A property may have separate electrical, solar and electric fence installations with different compliance requirements. Depending on what is installed at the property and the circumstances involved, more than one Certificate of Compliance may therefore be relevant.
Selling or Transferring a Property?
Certificates of Compliance form an important part of property transactions. Depending on the installations present at the property, separate Electrical, Solar and Electric Fence compliance requirements may need to be considered.
- Electrical installation → Electrical COC
- Solar installation → Solar COC
- Electric fence → Electric Fence COC
Property COC Inspection
PJ Electrical can inspect the relevant installations, identify non-compliant items and explain what must be addressed before certification.
Keep the Right Documentation.
Following incidents involving electrical systems, solar installations or electric fences, an insurer may investigate the condition, safety and compliance of the relevant installation as part of a claim. A valid Certificate of Compliance provides important documentation relating to compliance at the time the installation was inspected and certified.
- Insurance policies and circumstances differ.
- Always confirm the specific compliance and documentation requirements of your insurer.
The COC Process
An inspection and a certificate are not the same thing. Certification follows once the relevant installation has been inspected and meets the applicable requirements.
Inspection
PJ Electrical inspects the relevant installation to assess its condition and compliance.
Findings
If non-compliant items are identified, we’ll explain what requires attention.
Remedial Work
Where required, the necessary remedial electrical work can be discussed and completed before certification.
Certification
Once the installation meets the applicable requirements, the Certificate of Compliance can be issued.
We'll Explain What Requires Attention.
Finding a non-compliant item doesn’t automatically mean there is a major problem. Electrical installations change over time, components age, alterations are made and previous work may not always meet the required standard. PJ Electrical will identify the items requiring attention and explain the remedial work needed before certification can be completed.
Inspection Before Certification
The inspection establishes the condition of the installation and whether remedial work is required.
Choose the Installation That Applies
If your property has more than one of these installations, you may require more than one Certificate of Compliance.
Electrical Installation
Choose an Electrical COC for the property electrical installation.
Electric Fence
Choose an Electric Fence COC for the electric fence installation.
Have More Than One Installation?
Tell PJ Electrical what is installed at the property and why you require certification. We can help determine which inspection or COC service is appropriate.
A COC Isn't a Permanent Shield.
A Certificate of Compliance relates to the installation inspected and certified at the time of issue. Subsequent alterations, additions or interference with the installation can affect its compliance and may require additional inspection or certification.
- If electrical work has been carried out since your COC was issued, contact PJ Electrical if you are unsure whether further certification is required.
Protect the Integrity of the Installation
Compliance can be affected when later work changes the installation that was originally inspected.
