Electrical Compliance for Your Solar Installation
Commonly referred to as a Solar COC, the Certificate of Compliance relates to the electrical installation associated with the solar system and is issued in terms of the applicable Electrical Installation Regulations.
Solar installations introduce electrical equipment, wiring, protection and connections that must comply with the applicable electrical safety requirements.
A COC can only be issued once the applicable installation has been inspected, tested and found to comply.
When Might You Need a Solar COC?
New Solar Installation
Electrical work associated with a new solar installation requires appropriate inspection, testing and certification.
Existing Solar Installation
An existing solar installation may require inspection and testing where compliance documentation is needed or the installation has been altered.

How the Solar COC Process Works
An inspection and a certificate are not the same thing. Certification follows once the relevant installation has been inspected and meets the applicable requirements.

Findings
If non-compliant items are identified, we’ll explain what requires attention before certification can be completed.
Remedial Work
Where corrective electrical work is required, the necessary remedial work can be discussed.
Certification
Once the applicable installation meets the applicable requirements, the appropriate Certificate of Compliance can be issued.
What If the Installation Doesn't Comply?
A COC Isn't Automatically Issued After an Inspection.
If non-compliant items are identified, PJ Electrical will explain what requires attention and what remedial electrical work is necessary before certification can be completed.
Non-compliance doesn’t automatically mean the entire solar system needs replacing. The inspection establishes what actually requires attention for electrical compliance.
